In 2020, Femi Olutoye was featured by Newsgd.com, the official English-language news agency of Guangdong Province, for his outstanding volunteer service during the COVID-19 outbreak in China. At the time, he was a PhD nursing student at Southern Medical University, supporting international patients at Guangzhou’s Eighth People’s Hospital by helping bridge cultural and language barriers in care.
