On May 28, 2025, the Femi Olutoye Foundation marked Menstrual Hygiene Day with a purpose-driven outreach at Goodwill Group of Schools in Obaagun, Osun State.

Guided by this year’s global theme, “Together for a #PeriodFriendlyWorld,” our outreach sought to raise awareness about period poverty while promoting lasting solutions rooted in period equity.

We engaged more than 130 schoolgirls in an open and empowering conversation about menstrual health and dignity. With the support of our dedicated volunteers, the session addressed practical hygiene practices, emotional well-being during menstruation, and the importance of safe, inclusive environments for girls at home and at school.

To ensure no girl was left behind, we distributed sanitary pads to help each participant leave not only better informed but also equipped and empowered to manage her period with confidence.

We extend heartfelt gratitude to our volunteers for their time, compassion, and commitment to girl-centered outreach. Period poverty is a barrier no girl should face, and through efforts like this, we are advancing period equity by ensuring dignity, education, and access for every girl.
